TLC Bible reading today is Isaiah 27 & 28. God’s purpose in discipline is restoration and blessing. Israel suffers for their sin, they thought they would be better off serving idols and false gods. They thought pursuing carnal pleasures would produce the happiness and joy they desired. Israel is led by drunks who reek with wine and stagger with alcohol. They lose themselves with wine and their tables are filled with vomit. God is trying to lead them to a place of blessing, a place of rest ... but they would not be led. God has given us His Son Jesus. Jesus is a foundation stone, firm and tested. He is a precious corner stone safe to build on and whoever believes in Him will not be shaken. Israel ended up rejecting Jesus for a time and the bed they chose was too short to lie on and the blankets too narrow to cover them. The Lord will teach us how to succeed if we will listen. If we follow Him we will not want to lack, however if we insist on our own ways we will come up empty every time. ... See more
TLC Bible reading today is Isaiah 25 & 26. Isaiah is providing encouragement and hope to those who know God and trust in Him. God knows how to dismantle kingdoms of oppression and arrogance. He knows how to lift up the oppressed and poor. God has planned wonderful things and He accomplished them. He is a tower of refuge for the needy and distressed. Rejoice for He brings salvation!
God will keep in perfect peace those who trust Him and whose thoughts are fixed on Him. Trust in the Lord for He is the eternal Rock! Those who die in the Lord will live for all eternity. They will rise up and sing for joy. ... See more

She sold herself for the momentary pleasure of others. Chapter 24 foretells the Great Tribulation and its devastating effects on humanity and the planet. When people call evil good and good evil, when we edit God’s truth to fit our desires, when we break His covenant with us ... things go south. However ... eventually good wins and righteousness is restored. Judgment is not pleasant but restoration is amazing. ... See more
