TLC Bible reading today is 2 Chronicles 16. King Asa changed ... and not for the better. We are not sure what caused the change but after a few decades he quit trusting in God and His relationship with God went cold. He didn't serve false gods but he didn't really serve the true God either. He used to be bold and confident. He heard God's voice and saw miracles in the past but now he didn't even seek God and he did things on his own. The change was sad. When confronted about it he got defensive and put the prophet in prison. His end was painful and sad but it didn't have to be like that. Don't allow the struggles of life to change you and push you away from God. Stay connected to God relationally and passionately. Don't allow life to change you, change life. God desires to be close to you and He loves helping you! ... See more
TLC Bible reading today is 2 Chronicles 15. Asa received a powerful prophecy and he responded properly towards it. The results were very good for him and his people. We could benefit from understanding these same things and responding to them.
1. The Lord is with you while you are with Him.
2. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.
3. Turmoil, destruction and trouble is present when we ignore God.
4. Be strong, do not allow your hands to be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!
King Asa took courage and devoted himself and his nation to the Lord. It wasn't easy but the results were worth it! ... See more
TLC Bible reading today is 2 Chronicles 14. King Asa did it right and got the right results. He was a reformer. He refused to go along with the spiritual darkness his nation had fallen into. He cleansed the culture and the land of idolatry and evil. He redirected his nation back to their Creator. He devoted himself and used his influence to regain the favor of God. God blessed them abundantly. He gave them peace and prosperity. They had one battle with an Ethiopian army that was double their size and strength but they called on God and God gave them the victory as well as much wealth from the spoils of the battle.
I love that! God intends for us to win the battles and take the resources of the enemy in the process!
Let's live right. Let's lead well. Be a reformer! Let's trust God and call on Him. Watch God bless you with many blessings as you do this! ... See more
